About DG Bing

 

          District Governor Fe “Bing” Rosales Juarez is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban  which was chartered October, 1990. She has held club and district positions every year thereafter:

 

She was the Club President in Rotary Year 1994-95; was chair of Career Development, Literacy, and Club Adviser several times.

 

          In the District level, Gov. Bing has chaired several District seminars and conferences hosted by the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban: the 13th District Conference in 1996-97; the Tri District Rotary Foundation Seminar in 2004-05; and two District Membership Development Seminars, in 2006-07 and 2008-09. She was also the Program Chair of the District Interclub Forum in 1992-93.

 

          Gov. Bing was a Governor’s Group Representative in RY 1995-96, and Assistant Governor in 1999-2000 and in 2001-02.

 

          She was a Governor’s Special Representative in 1998-99 tasked to work on the chartering of the now Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro, which was chartered on February 1999, club number 51712. She also recommended the name Kalayaan, as 1998-99 was the country’s Centennial Year of Independence.

 

          Alternately, she handled the District’s Youth Exchange (2001-02), the Scholarship Sub-Committee (1997-98), and Membership Development (2000-01, 2006-07).       

         

          She was also a member of the District Training Team for three years: 2002-03, 2003-04, and 2004-05.

 

          As District Governor-Elect last year, she chaired the District’s Literacy Resource Group and the On to Birmingham Convention.

 

          The District Governor’s membership  classification is Education: Private Schools. True to her classification, she has embarked on various educational service projects during her term as Club President. “Caring for a Young Friend” was a tutorial program for street kids housed in Balay sa Gugma, where she was then a member of the board. Her club also conducted health education and literacy classes in several communities.  A special literacy project dubbed “Tabangan Ta Ka Pagbasa, Higala” embarked on book donation distribution to more than 80 public schools in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental. She also spearheaded the establishment of the

Villanueva Public Library in Misamis Oriental and a mini-Library in the Cagayan de Oro City Jail.

 

          The book donation, which was featured in a California Rotary Club Newsletter as “Spectacular Book Donation”, came from the Rotary Club of Van Nuys, California (D5263), Rotary Club of North San Fernando Valley (D5260), Sun Valley Rotary Club (D5260), and Sta. Clarita Valley Rotary Club(D5260).

 

          Receiving  hospital equipment from the Rotary Club of Xenia, Ohio (D6370), the RC CDO East Urban donated the same  to the Cagayan de Oro City Public Hospital during the Governor’s term as Club President.

 

          Governor Bing is also affiliated with various professional and civic organizations, among them: The National Research Council of the  Philippines, where she is a Regular Member and Vice Chair for the Mindanao Cluster; International Reading Association, a member since 1991;

 Northern Mindanao School Registrar’s Association,  President for 3 years (1993-96);  Philippine Association for Graduate Education -Region 10  President for 4 years (1989-93); American Studies Association of the Philippines,  Director for 2 years (1988-90);  Regional Technical Education and Skills Development Committee of Region 10, Member since 2008;

Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President        

for 2 years, Trustee since 2003;  Promote Cagayan de Oro Foundation, Trustee;  Misamis Oriental Arts, Culture and Tourism Council, Vice Chair for  2 years;  Cagayan de Oro Tourism Board, Vice Chair and Member, for 3 years;  Participant, Philippine Forum.

     

          The Governor has successfully organized several conferences, fora,  and seminars, mostly in the academic field. She has equally published works in several academic journals.

 

          Among her many  awards are the Amazing Alumni Award given by Miriam College in 2003, and the Award of Highest Honor in the Field of Education by the Soka Women’s College of Soka University in Tokyo, Japan, in 1999.

 

          Governor Bing is a  graduate of Bachelor of Arts major in History from Maryknoll (now Miriam) College in Quezon City, Masters in Education (College Scholar) major in Educational Administration, minor in Business Administration from the College of Education of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, and Doctor of Philosophy, major in Philippine Studies from the College of Social Science and Philosophy, also from the  University of the Philippines in Diliman. She also finished a seminar course in the College of  Education of Harvard University in Boston, USA.

 

          She is presently the Executive Vice President of Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City.

 

          A daughter of Mme. Laureana S. Rosales, she is married to Atty. Casimiro B. Juarez, Jr., and is blessed with four children.
